Photos! Photos anyone?

So as we all know, the holiday season brings great joy... and craziness! Working extra hours to get the overtime for the presents. Trying to see families, even if they live in the same town. Trying to get your Christmas photos done and sent out as cards. Wait, what's that? You forgot the photos? Oh no! Now, you're probably scrambling through social media trying to find someone to take your photos. Well, it happens. Every once in a while you can find somebody that isn't booked like crazy. My advice is, don't get discouraged by the price, afterall they do have a business to run!please support your photographers just like you support local businesses. They will greatly appreciate the time and effort, and also the money. Look carefully as they're are some that only want the money. The majority care about their clients, or soon to be forever clients. As for now, I am off to complete some editing of some family photos that were taken recently. Until next time, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from us here at A. Castle Photography.

Behind This Lens

When you sit down in front of a camera, what do you think? Should I smile? Is there anything in my teeth and if so, will it show when I smile? Should i act casual, or add a little mystery to it? To be honest, show your true self in every photo!!! Whether its a self portrait, a candid image, always be yourself. I sit here and write this after going through some old photos and I can see so much detail. The saying is true, "a picture is worth a thousand words". The eyes, the slight smile or grin, the posture, its a way to see in. I sit here behind the lens looking at my subjects and just wonder if it's a true version of them. None the less, it's just thoughts running through my mind and I should stop rambling on. I see that I have a slight audience out there, and thank you to whoever reads these. I'm not looking for fame, or popularity. This is just a way to showcase art in a meaningful way and write about life as a photographer. I would also like to take the time to say thank you to the amazing couple that offered me a chance to take their maternity photos. I believe that they came out looking great. I'll even put a quick on here for you guys out there! Well, off I run to finish this editing. Signing off, A. Castle Photography!

Traveler by choice, Photographer at heart.

To see everything around you and soak up the view is one amazing thing that anybody can do. To take that view and turn it into an amazing photograph is another. The lighting, the subjects actions, the surroundings in general. All of these things must match up perfectly for the vision in ones head to turn out amazing. More like just the vision of a photographer. I travel the United States by choice, as a truck driver delivering household goods to America. It brings me pride in doing a job well done, but is my passion truly there? To be honest, I'd rather be behind the lens capturing moments in time. Ones that can always be defined by more than a thousand words. That is where my true passion is. Not the hum of a diesel motor in my ears, or the sound of me shifting gears. Its seeing that moment in time where I once was, almost like my history. I hope that one day I can change my career. One day, sometime, somewhere, all of this will fall into place.

Daily

I guess you never realize how much time is consumed by your daily activities. Wake up, go to work, go home, do it all over again. Of course there are things in between, that is just a generic way of putting things into perspective.  I plan on not having to go work for someone else and have my own business down the road. Time will only tell. But in the meantime I will continue to go through my daily routine.

The turn down

For the first time, the very first time, I was asked to do a wedding. Which by the way, I had to turn it down! Even though I would have loved to do the wedding, I advised that it would be the first one I would have done. That being said, I think that its a special day and i would not a rookie to mess up my photos or even take the chance of that happening. So here I sit, awaiting  the next time that I will have another photo shoot  booked  with me. What would you have done? Be honest! Wpuld you have done the same? Or would you gone through  with booking them?

Clean slate!

I originally started this page a couple years ago, and left it empty. Well, that's going to change. I will more than likely use this page to share the things in my journey within a few things. It'll be mainly photography but also just everyday life. So here is to a new fresh beginning to my business that I know will grow! Hopefully you out there, (whoever is reading this) will enjoy and get some useful tips out of this. Happy New Year!
